CHIOS AND THE NORTH AEGEAN

Chios is one of the most unexplored and unspoiled islands in the North Aegean. It lies only 5 miles from the western coast of Turkey and is the 5th largest of the Greek islands. It is home to medieval villages, masticha trees which produce the world famous gum,  beautiful seaside villages, and windmills. The north of the island is mountainous with picturesque mountain villages and secluded sandy beaches.

Chios is easily accessible by both boat and aeroplane. There are regular ferry sailings from Piraeus. The island has its own airport and receives flights from Athens, Rhodes and Thessaloniki. The flight from Athens takes little more than 30 minutes.

Viviloi is a small village, 2 kms from the nearest beach and 5 kms from the airport. Shopping facilities include a bakery, mini market, tavernas, a chemist and medical facilities.
